Hello Everyone!

Now that we are in the second month of 2018, it is important to take a step back to reflect on goals and New Year’s Resolutions.  One of those goals for me has been to continue with my fitness progress and to share my progress and tips in the form of a Youtube Vlog.

Why bring this to Café con Leite?

It is not just because (for a very short period of time) I attempted to drink my coffee without cream, milk or sugar for the #fitnessgoals or #gains. I bring to you the topic of fitness because it fits very closely within the “life” theme of Café con Leite. Fitness and health are not only about hitting the gym and eating nutritious foods but is about overall wellness.

While browsing social media, I found a post that pointed out that to truly see progress in your fitness and health goals, you must consistently have:

  1. Exercise
  2. Nutrition
  3. Sleep

I completely agree with this statement.

I have found that my greatest fat loss and muscle gains have been when I made a conscious effort to address all three of these things. I have even made it a point to appear at the gym at least five times a week to keep a regular exercise routine. In the interest of saving money, I also meal prep.

However, if you did not guess by the Life Happens post, between two jobs, blogging, vlogging, and some new attempts at creating a side hustle, I cannot remember the last time I got a full 6 hours of sleep, much less the 7-8 hours that are recommended. Whether you are a parent, student, business owner, or just any other person trying to successfully adult, I am sure you can relate.

Needless to say, there is a balance that is difficult to reach in terms of meeting all three components for fitness. To fill in the sleep gap in my 2018 fitness progress, my goal for the month of February 2018 is to get at least 6 hours of sleep each night. I hope to find a way to get 6.5 hours a night by the end of 2018.
