If you are reading this post then it means you have almost made it through the first week of January 2018! As always, I would like to thank you for joining us, especially with this being the first post of in the new year. We are looking very forward to bringing you new content in 2018.
Keeping this post short (so you can get back to your New Year’s planning and festivities), I would like to share with you my favorite home-brewed coffee of 2017. If you read the previous post, you will see that in January 2017, I traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico, home of this coffee and the bizcochito cookie.
I purchased Piñon Coffee in Bizcochito flavor with a side of bizcochito cookies as a souvenir from Albuquerque – I was definitely impressed! The aroma and flavor of this coffee are amazing. I will say that this is a lighter and less acidic coffee, with a smooth taste. It does lack the depth of a stronger French Roast or Dark Roast coffee but it is enjoyable as an early morning brew.
And the cookies. The cookies, which I typically try to stay away from, are even better. Bizcochito cookies are shortbread cookies and are the national cookie of the state of New Mexico. Even prepackaged, they have a delicious homecooked taste and are a perfect match for the coffee.
Now, I liked the coffee and cookies so much that I purchased more on the Piñon website – which sells them in 2lb and 5lb bags! I was pleasantly surprised to see the variety of flavors they have and ventured to try the Dulce de Leche coffee (which I must say is not as good as the Bizcochito flavor, in my opinion).
